Conference-debate: we are what we eat

"We are what we eat" is the theme of a conference-debate organised recently in Essaouira, in the presence of health professionals and associative actors from the Essaouira province. This meeting, initiated by the Essaouira Nurses Association, in coordination with the provincial health delegation in Essaouira, was an opportunity to make known the central role played by diet in the prevention of certain incurable diseases and to underline the need to establish a healthy food culture among citizens and health professionals. Attention was also drawn to the factors of dietary imbalance, which cause several serious diseases, such as food industry products and containers made from non-natural materials, such as plastic. On the same occasion, a similar conference, open to the public, was organised under the theme "Good health is good nutrition''.
